Travis Kelce has described his wedding to Taylor Swift as one of the biggest nights of his life, but there is one part of the celebration he still wishes had gone differently.

Speaking on the September 2 season premiere of New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce , the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on the couple’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden and admitted the night simply passed too quickly.

“I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did,” Kelce said. “It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye.”

Jason jokingly summed up the ending another way: “They kicked us out,” he said.

Kelce laughed before explaining: “Well, once the drinks stopped being served, everyone kinda just starts to, you know, mosey out.”

The lighthearted exchange came during one of Kelce ’s first detailed public reflections on a wedding that had largely remained private despite the couple’s global fame.

“It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Kelce added.

Why Swift and Kelce chose Madison Square Garden

The couple’s choice of Madison Square Garden surprised some fans given its size and public profile, but Kelce said the goal was actually to create the opposite feeling.

“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” he said. “And we needed it to be a private feel.” Kelce said the venue “went above and beyond” to make that possible.

One of the most important decisions was a no-phones policy for guests, which he said allowed people to relax without worrying about being photographed or recorded.

“It makes everyone be in the moment and be present,” Kelce said.

That mattered on a guest list that mixed family members and childhood friends with some of the most recognizable names in entertainment.

Jason recalled seeing Brad Pitt, Conan O’Brien and Paul McCartney during the night, while also being struck by familiar faces from earlier parts of his life.

Adam Sandler helped make ceremony unforgettable

Kelce also singled out Adam Sandler , who officiated the wedding after getting ordained in New York.

“He has been just the f**king best person on this planet,” Kelce said.

The Chiefs star said Sandler delivered the ceremony in “the very, you know, Sandman style” and gave the couple “more than we could have ever imagined in that moment.”

Jason served as Kelce ’s best man, while Swift ’s brother Austin was her man of honor. The couple also exchanged lengthy personalized vows.

Looking back, however, Kelce ’s lasting impression was less about the celebrity guests or elaborate setting than how quickly the night disappeared.

“Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up,” he said. “And it was just so magical, man.”

If Kelce could change anything, he wouldn't alter the venue, the ceremony or the guest list. He would simply make the night last longer.
