Gisele Bündchen’s true feelings about Tom Brady divorce revealed four years later
While new claims have shed light on the couple’s final months, Bündchen is reportedly looking ahead rather than dwelling on the past
Four years after Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady ended their marriage, the supermodel appears to have reached a place of acceptance rather than resentment.
A source close to Bündchen told People that she isn't bitter about the divorce and remains grateful for the years she and Brady shared.
“She always thought she would be married to Tom for the rest of her life,” the source stated. “The divorce was very upsetting, and she struggled to understand it at the time, but she’s not bitter.
“She’s very spiritual and looking back, she feels the universe had another plan for her.”
Brady and Bündchen finalized their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. Together, they share son Benjamin and daughter Vivian. Bündchen also became a stepmother to Brady's eldest son, Jack , whom he shares with actress Bridget Moynahan.
When the couple announced their split, they emphasized their commitment to putting their children first. Bündchen later described the breakdown of their marriage as the result of the couple growing apart.
In a 2023 Vanity Fair interview, she also pushed back against claims that she had given Brady an ultimatum over his football career.

New details about the final period of the marriage have emerged following the publication of Lars Anderson's biography, Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness.
According to claims in the book, Brady took an extended break from Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp in 2022 in an effort to privately repair his marriage. The book also includes accounts from sources about tensions surrounding family responsibilities and Brady's demanding football schedule.
“She was getting tired of living on Tom’s schedule and being somewhat in his shadow during football season,” one of Brady’s former teammates allegedly stated as per the book.
“She has a lot of pride, too. And, I mean, how many times did you see Tom supporting her career? There clearly were imbalances there.”
Bündchen has since built a different family life. She married jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in December 2025 in a private ceremony in Florida. The couple welcomed a son in February 2025, giving Bündchen a new chapter of motherhood alongside her older children.
People reports that she feels grateful to have become a mother again and is happy with her life with Valente and their family.
Despite their divorce, Bündchen has previously made it clear that she continues to wish Brady well. During her 2023 interview, she said she'd always cheer for him and wanted him to achieve his dreams.
That outlook appears consistent with her reported feelings today. The marriage may have ended painfully, but Bündchen doesn't appear to view those 13 years simply through the lens of the divorce.
