Grand opening disaster: Tom Brady hit by $12,000 theft in Palo Alto just one week after launch
Tom Brady’s new trading card store was burglarized just one week after opening in Palo Alto.

Tom Brady has suffered an early setback with his latest business venture after thieves targeted his newly opened trading card store in California.
The store, CardVault by Tom Brady , was burglarized in Palo Alto only days after its grand opening, with authorities estimating that around $12,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.
The incident reportedly happened during the early hours of August 24, when suspects broke into the business and removed a number of valuable items before fleeing.
For Brady , the timing could hardly have been worse after the seven-time Super Bowl champion had only recently celebrated the launch of the location.
Thieves target Brady’s new store
The Palo Alto Police Department said officers responded after receiving a report of a commercial burglary at the store.
Investigators believe the suspects entered the property overnight and stole merchandise valued at approximately $12,000.
The items taken reportedly included collectible trading cards, which can carry significant value depending on their rarity and condition.
No injuries were reported in connection with the burglary, and the suspects had already left the scene by the time police arrived.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident as they attempt to identify those responsible.
Store had only just opened
CardVault by Tom Brady officially opened its Palo Alto location only around a week before the burglary.
The business is part of Brady’s growing collection of ventures away from football and focuses on sports cards, memorabilia and other collectibles.
Brady became involved with CardVault as both an investor and partner, attaching his name to a company aimed at expanding in the increasingly valuable sports memorabilia market.
The Palo Alto store had been promoted as another step in that expansion, making the burglary an unwelcome interruption almost immediately after its debut.
Brady has not publicly commented on the theft.
While the reported financial loss is relatively small compared with the former quarterback’s broader business empire, the incident represents an unfortunate start for the new location.
Police have not yet announced any arrests , and the investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine exactly how the burglary was carried out and where the stolen merchandise may have gone.
