Rob Gronkowski explains Tom Brady's love life following his divorce from Gisele Bündchen: "His physical appeal is his best ally"
Gronkowski changes his tune on being Tom Brady’s dating wingman

Rob Gronkowski has once again offered his thoughts on Tom Brady’s romantic life, but the former NFL tight end now insists his longtime teammate doesn’t need any help finding a partner.
Speaking to People at the 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner in New York City on October 5, Gronkowski laughed off his previous claim that he was serving as Brady’s “wingman.”
“I’m not Tom Brady’s wingman,” Gronkowski said. “ Tom don’t need no help. Yeah. He doesn’t. He’s so good. His good looks is his wingman.”
The comments came roughly two weeks after Gronkowski had discussed Brady’s potential dating life during a September appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.
At the time, Gronkowski said Brady would likely benefit from meeting someone kind, sweet and positive. He even compared those qualities to his own mother, Diane Gronkowski-Walters , before quickly clarifying that he meant someone with similar qualities, not his mother herself.
“She would be like that’s the best birthday present ever!,” said Gronkowski .
The discussion comes several years after Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen ended their 13-year marriage.
The former couple finalized their divorce in October 2022 and have continued to co-parent their two children, maintaining a focus on their family despite the intense public attention surrounding their split.
Gronkowski , who spent years playing alongside Brady , has always shared a particularly close friendship with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
The two won four Super Bowl titles together, first with the New England Patriots and later with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady’s private life remains closely guarded
While Gronkowski is happy to joke about his friend’s dating prospects, Brady has generally kept his personal life away from the spotlight.
According to biographer Lars Anderson, the former quarterback has a privacy habit he reportedly picked up from Bündchen : regularly changing his cellphone number.
The revelation shows just how carefully Brady has tried to protect his personal life after decades in the public eye. As one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, even seemingly ordinary details can attract significant attention.
Bündchen has also spoken about wanting greater privacy following her divorce. In a 2023 interview with the Los Angeles Times, she pushed back against speculation surrounding her personal life and said she wanted to focus on nature, her work and raising her children peacefully.
Her comments showed her desire to move beyond the constant scrutiny that surrounded her marriage and subsequent divorce. Both Brady and Bündchen have publicly emphasized the importance of their children and their commitment to co-parenting.
Brady’s love life remains an easy subject for friendly teasing for Gronkowski . After years of sharing the field, locker rooms and major football moments, he knows his former quarterback well.
And while Gronkowski may have previously volunteered for the role of matchmaker, his latest assessment makes it clear that Brady doesn’t need a wingman.
