The Raiders have already decided on the price they will ask from teams interested in Maxx Crosby

Las Vegas isn't willing to let its defensive superstar go cheap

The Las Vegas Raiders aren't prepared to let Maxx Crosby leave for a bargain, even with the NFL trade deadline approaching.

The franchise reportedly has a clear valuation for its defensive superstar, and interested teams will need to make a significant offer to have any chance of completing a deal.

According to longtime NFL insider Jason La Canfora, an unnamed general manager believes the Raiders won't accept anything below two first-round draft picks.

That's the same package Baltimore agreed to surrender in March before backing out of the proposed trade following concerns about Crosby's surgically repaired knee.

Speaking to La Canfora, the executive suggested Las Vegas had already established its asking price and would have little reason to reduce it.

"They set the price already, really, didn't they? They had two ones from (Ravens GM Eric) DeCosta. So you can't really act like he's not available now," the GM told La Canfora.

"I don't think they take less than that. I'm not sure someone offers that; that was a reach by Baltimore… But he's still a dominant player. The knee isn't holding him back.”

Crosby has continued to be an important defensive presence in Las Vegas, recording two sacks and 18 tackles through seven games.

The 29-year-old remains one of the league's most recognizable pass rushers, and his contract runs through 2029 following a three-year, $106.5 million extension.

Which teams could make a move for Crosby?

Several franchises have emerged as potential destinations for the five-time Pro Bowler. The Dallas Cowboys are among the most frequently discussed options, particularly after trading Micah Parsons.

Their pass rush has struggled, with the team recording just seven sacks through seven weeks, making Crosby an attractive solution. However, Dallas' limited draft capital could complicate negotiations.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could also explore a deal. With ambitions of competing deep into the postseason, adding an established edge rusher would strengthen their defense.

One suggested possibility involves including wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and additional draft selections in an offer to reduce the number of first-round picks required.

The Detroit Lions are another intriguing candidate. Pairing Crosby with Aidan Hutchinson could create a formidable defensive front and give Detroit another weapon during its championship push. With a strong team already in place, the Lions might consider paying a premium to improve their postseason chances.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills have also been mentioned as possible suitors. New York already has an impressive pass rush, but adding Crosby could make its defensive line even more dangerous.

Buffalo, meanwhile, could use his disruptive ability to improve a defense that has struggled to consistently contain opposing offenses.

The decision for Las Vegas comes down to balancing immediate competitiveness with its long-term rebuilding plans. At 3-4, the Raiders have experienced a difficult stretch after an encouraging start, making the possibility of selling a major asset worth considering.

The franchise also has to think about building a competitive supporting cast for quarterback Fernando Mendoza as it looks toward the future. Acquiring additional first-round selections could provide valuable opportunities to strengthen several positions.
