Tom Brady gets a free pass for everything, even after another gaffe during his appearance on “Fox NFL Sunday” leaves him in an awkward situation

The legendary quarterback finds himself in hot water again after another unexpected on-air outburst

Tom Brady has spent much of his post-playing career adjusting to life on the other side of the microphone, but one habit keeps interrupting his polished broadcasting image: his language.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion was caught swearing during Fox NFL Sunday this past weekend, marking his second such slip during a live NFL broadcast this season.

The latest incident happened during a trivia segment featuring fellow former quarterback Drew Brees . The pair were challenged to identify players who rank third in various career passing categories.

When the question turned to career games with at least 300 passing yards, Brees was listed first and Brady second. Asked to name the player in third place, Brady mistakenly answered, “Drew Brees!”

Realizing he'd repeated a name already on the board, Brady immediately blurted out an expletive. The studio crew couldn't contain their laughter, with the unexpected outburst turning an ordinary trivia segment into an awkward but entertaining television moment.

Host Curt Menefee acknowledged the slip and made it clear that everyone had heard him. Peyton Manning was eventually identified as the correct answer.

The incident gave NFL fans another opportunity to discuss Brady's increasingly unfiltered moments on television.

Some viewers found the mistake hilarious, while others suggested the former quarterback needed to be more careful with his language.

“He’s gotta chill man,” said one fan.

“Even legends have their unfiltered moments,” said another.

Another live-TV slip, but will there be consequences?

This wasn't an isolated incident for Brady. In September, during Fox's broadcast of a game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders, he reacted to a replay showing Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocating his left elbow.

The former quarterback let the same expletive slip before apologizing and explaining that he hadn't expected to see the injury.

Having two similar incidents during the same season has put Brady's broadcasting habits under the spotlight.

While his experience and football knowledge have made him one of Fox's leading NFL voices, his occasional language slip-ups are becoming an unexpected part of his television appearances.

There's also another reason Brady attracts attention. He's not only Fox's lead NFL game analyst but also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

His broadcasting position comes with league restrictions, including limitations on how strongly he can criticize officials.

His recent comments about officiating have already attracted attention, although details of any private discussions with the NFL aren't publicly available.

The latest incident also raises questions about television broadcast standards. FCC regulations restrict certain profane and indecent material on broadcast television during hours when children may be watching.

However, whether Brady's brief outburst will result in a formal complaint or regulatory action remains uncertain. Any potential penalty would involve the broadcasting stations rather than Brady personally.
