“Zookeeper” or “Dwight Schrute”? NFL fans mercilessly mock Tom Brady’s bizarre Week 2 look

Tom Brady’s unusual tan-and-white outfit became an unexpected talking point during FOX’s Week 2 Cowboys-Commanders broadcast

T om Brady has spent much of his post-playing career proving that his interests extend well beyond the football field.

On Sunday, however, NFL fans were less interested in his analysis of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders and far more concerned with what the former quarterback was wearing.

Brady was part of FOX's top NFL broadcast team for the Week 2 NFC East matchup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi .

The game was an important early-season meeting, with both Dallas and Washington entering the afternoon at 0-1.

But before the action became the main attraction, Brady's wardrobe immediately caught the attention of viewers.

The 49-year-old broadcaster appeared on television wearing a white-and-tan shirt, a dark striped tie and high-waisted tan pants.

The combination was enough to send social media into overdrive, with fans reaching for comparisons ranging from zoo employees to one of television's most recognizable fictional office workers.

“ Tom Brady dressed like a zookeeper,” one NFL fan joked.

“ Tom Brady looks like he just got back from a meeting about a Safari,” one NFL fan added on social media.

“ Tom Brady is dressed like Dwight Schrute ,” one NFL fan added.

The reaction turned Brady's outfit into a mini storyline during a broadcast that otherwise had plenty of football developments to discuss.

There was, however, some logic behind the fashion spectacle. Brady has increasingly embraced the fashion industry since stepping away from his playing career, making appearances and taking opportunities that would have seemed unlikely during his decades as an NFL quarterback.

Brady's fashion evolution has gone well beyond the broadcast booth

Earlier in 2026, Brady made an especially high-profile move into fashion when he walked in a Gucci runway show in New York's Times Square. ESPN reported that the seven-time Super Bowl champion made his catwalk debut at the Gucci Resort 2027 collection event in May.

That appearance looked dramatically different from his Week 2 FOX outfit. For the Gucci event, Brady wore black leather pants, a matching black leather jacket, a black shirt and black shoes, presenting a considerably more polished runway aesthetic.

His involvement with fashion has added another dimension to Brady's life after football. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback retired as one of the most accomplished players in NFL history, but his career after playing has included broadcasting, business ventures and increasingly visible fashion appearances.

Broadcasting itself was another unexpected chapter. Brady joined FOX as its lead NFL analyst after retiring from the field, becoming part of the network's premier team alongside Burkhardt . The Commanders' official Week 2 broadcast information confirmed that pairing for the Dallas game.

And the Cowboys-Commanders matchup ultimately provided Brady with plenty to discuss beyond his clothing.

Dallas defeated Washington 37-20, improving to 1-1 while dropping the Commanders to 0-2. Dak Prescott delivered a standout performance, completing 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns while becoming the Cowboys' all-time leader in touchdown passes, moving past Tony Romo' s previous franchise record of 248.

The game also took a serious turn when Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow late in the first half. Brady reacted emotionally to the injury during the broadcast, with his live response becoming another talking point after the game.

Still, for a portion of viewers, the most memorable Brady moment of the afternoon had nothing to do with the booth or the scoreboard.

Instead, it was the tan pants, white shirt and striped tie.

Brady has never appeared particularly interested in conforming to expectations about what a retired athlete should do. His transition into broadcasting was unconventional, and his runway appearance showed that he is also comfortable experimenting with fashion.

Whether Sunday's outfit was an intentional fashion statement, a questionable combination or simply Brady wearing what he liked, the reaction was unmistakable. NFL fans quickly turned the look into a joke, with “zookeeper” and Dwight Schrute comparisons spreading across social media.

For Brady, who has spent more than two decades attracting attention every time he steps into the spotlight, even an unusual outfit can become part of the conversation. This time, his performance in the booth was competing with his wardrobe for the day's headlines.
