Fans convinced Puka Nacua has quietly been suspended after allegedly biting a woman
Practice footage and his two-game absence have driven speculation

Puka Nacua is back for the Los Angeles Rams , but his return has done little to quiet a theory that has followed him throughout his two-game absence.
Some NFL fans are convinced the star receiver was serving a so-called “silent suspension,” even though there is no public evidence that either the Rams or the league disciplined him.
The speculation has grown because Nacua missed games against the New York Giants and Denver Broncos after playing in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
He was officially listed with hip and groin issues, but practice footage released this week showing him moving freely prompted some fans to question whether the injury was ever the full story.
Those theories have also been tied to allegations made against Nacua during the offseason following an alleged December 2025 incident.
A woman accused him of biting her and alleged threatening and harassing conduct, but there has been no announcement from the NFL linking those allegations to any suspension or disciplinary agreement.
One fan wrote on X, “Silent suspension is over! Lets balll,” while another claimed there was “no doubt” the Rams had quietly punished Nacua. Other fans pushed back, noting that the theory was difficult to reconcile with the fact he played in the season opener.
Nacua’s absence was injury-related
The Rams haven't suggested anything beyond injury was responsible for Nacua ’s time away, and head coach Sean McVay has been clear about his progress. “He’s looked really good,” McVay said after Friday’s practice. “Physically, he’s getting in and out of his brakes. Looks strong. Looks sturdy. Looks explosive. … He looks ready to go.”
That assessment was backed up by the team’s final injury report. Nacua was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, practised fully on Friday and carries no injury designation into Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles .
His return comes at an important moment for Los Angeles, which enters the matchup at 1-2 after a 30-26 loss to Denver. Nacua caught five passes for 74 yards in Week 1 before sitting out the next two games and now rejoins an offense that could use another elite target.
Nacua gives Rams major boost against Eagles
Last season, Nacua led the NFL with 129 receptions while recording 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the league’s most productive wide receivers.
Pairing him again with Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams gives the Rams a significantly more dangerous passing attack. The timing makes his comeback especially valuable against an Eagles team expected to test Los Angeles physically on both sides of the ball.
Nacua ’s ability after the catch and his willingness to work through contact should immediately give Stafford another reliable option. The online theory is likely to linger because of the unusual timing and the allegations surrounding Nacua’s offseason.
But there remains no proof that a “silent suspension” took place, while every official indication from the Rams points to a player who was injured, recovered and is now ready to return.
