Fantasy Football Week 4: NFL-expert doctor warns Puka Nacua could suffer a setback if he plays
Doctor raises concern over Puka Nacua's return against Eagles

The Los Angeles Rams are set to welcome Puka Nacua back to the lineup against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his return comes with an important caveat.
Nacua hasn't played since the Rams' season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, when he recorded five catches for 74 yards.
The star receiver subsequently dealt with hip and groin discomfort, forcing him to miss the team's meetings with the New York Giants and Denver Broncos.
After returning to practice this week, Nacua has made enough progress to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's matchup. Rams head coach Sean McVay has also been encouraged by what he's seen from his leading receiver during the team's preparation.
"Physically he's getting in and out of his breaks, looks strong, looks sturdy, looks explosive," McVay said during his press conference.
"I think it'll really just be a feel for the overall conditioning. Hoping the magic of the jersey on Sundays, he's feeling real good there."
Still, the Rams haven't committed to giving him his normal number of snaps.
The situation has prompted a warning from Dr. Jesse Morse , who follows NFL injuries and provides medical analysis.
"Puka Nacua will be limited in Week 4 as well as at moderately increased risk for reinjury with his groin and hip injuries. He'll be on the field, but likely far from 100%," tweeted Morse .
His assessment isn't an official Rams medical diagnosis, but it highlights the uncertainty surrounding Nacua's return.
Rams must carefully manage Nacua's workload
The challenge for Los Angeles will be finding the right balance between getting its offensive star back on the field and avoiding a setback.
Nacua's practice performance suggests he's moving in the right direction, but game conditions can place very different demands on an injured player, particularly a receiver who relies heavily on acceleration and sharp changes of direction.
The Rams already have evidence that their passing game can function without Nacua . Davante Adams has taken on a larger role during his absence, while Konata Mumpfield also produced against Denver.
Adams has recorded more than 100 receiving yards in each of the past two games, giving quarterback Matthew Stafford another proven option.
That depth could allow Los Angeles to be cautious with Nacua rather than immediately returning him to an every-snap role. McVay has acknowledged that the team will need to determine how his conditioning responds on game day, making his workload something to monitor closely.
Nacua's return nevertheless provides a significant boost. The Rams entered Week 4 at 1-2, and getting their All-Pro receiver back gives Stafford another major weapon against Philadelphia.
The key question isn't just whether Nacua can play, but how much he can play without compromising his recovery. Given the season is still in its early stages, the Rams will have to weigh the value of his presence against the potential consequences of pushing him too quickly.
