Rob Gronkowski, former NFL star, sparks political speculation with Election Day appearance
A simple Election Day visit turned into a headline-making moment for Rob Gronkowski as questions emerged about his political ties.

Rob Gronkowski is back at the center of attention, although this time it has nothing to do with football. The former New England Patriots star appeared in New Hampshire during the 2026 Election Day to encourage civic participation.
The four-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer was seen signing jerseys and taking photos with fans outside Bedford High School , where he encouraged people to head to the polls.
Although Gronkowski was seen waving an American flag near a Turning Point USA tent, he did not publicly endorse any specific candidate during the election.
“It doesn’t matter what party you’re voting for. It’s just important that you go out there and vote,” Gronkowski said, according to The Mirror.
The former NFL tight end was not the only athlete involved during Election Day. Former NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola and boxer Floyd Mayweather were also spotted in New Hampshire encouraging voter participation.
Gronkowski’s alleged political ties questioned
Gronkowski’s presence near a Turning Point USA tent sparked speculation that he could be supporting Republican Senate candidate John E. Sununu , although the organization denied that the former player was participating with them in an official capacity.
“On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the organization claimed Gronkowski wasn’t with the group in an official capacity, but merely walked by their tent and snapped photos with members,” The Daily Beast reported.
Gronkowski was also seen alongside New Hampshire Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte and signed a campaign sign for Henry Giasson , a Republican candidate for the state House of Representatives .
For now, Gronkowski has not made any additional comments about the situation and could turn his attention back to his new role as an analyst and the upcoming 2026 NFL season .
