Absolute panic on Monday Night Football: Latest injury report on Jaxson Dart after a brutal blow
Jaxson Dart suffered a scary knee injury on the Giants' opening drive.

The New York Giants got off to a nightmare start on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams. On the very first offensive drive of the game, quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury that forced the Giants to immediately turn to Jameis Winston .
The encouraging news was that Dart managed to get up and walk off the field under his own power, although he was clearly limping. Even so, concern remains high as the team awaits an official diagnosis.
For now, the Giants ' latest update reads: "Injury Update: QB Jaxson Dart (knee) is questionable to return."
Meanwhile, Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team reported: "Jaxson Dart was able to limp to the medical tent."
Former NFL team physician Dr. David Chao offered an early assessment that was somewhat encouraging, while warning the injury could still be significant.
"Scary start to MNF. Never good when a QB clutches his lead leg. The good news is I doubt it's an ACL tear. The concern is an MCL sprain. He'll likely have limited mobility and may need to wear a brace," Chao wrote on his official X account.
Another injury hits the NFL's new generation of quarterbacks
Dart became the latest young NFL quarterback to suffer an injury during Week 2 .
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams , the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, exited his game against the Minnesota Vikings with a hamstring injury and is considered week-to-week.
Meanwhile, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels , the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, suffered a gruesome dislocated elbow against the Dallas Cowboys—the same injury that sidelined him for four games during the 2025 season.
It's not the first injury scare for Dart
Monday night's injury was not the first time Dart has worried the Giants.
During New York's preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings, the rookie quarterback absorbed a crushing hit from safety Jay Ward on a blitz that left him writhing in pain on the turf at MetLife Stadium .
After being evaluated in the blue medical tent, Dart returned to the game and threw a touchdown pass to rookie Malachi Fields , easing concerns at the time.
Now, the Giants are hoping history repeats itself and that the injury Dart suffered against the Rams turns out to be nothing more than a scare at a crucial point in the season.
