Cam Skattebo reacts to 'best friend' Jaxson Dart's season-ending injury

The New York Giants received a hard blow with the confirmation that Jaxson Dart will miss the rest of the season due to the knee injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Ram s. Now, all eyes are on Jameis Winston , who will have the responsibility of keeping the team competitive during the final stretch of the campaign.

Although the schedule appears to offer him a favorable opportunity to prove his ability, Dart’s absence represents a significant challenge for a franchise that had found hope in its young quarterback.

Cam Skattebo breaks his silence after Jaxson Dart’s injury

One of the players most affected by the news was running back Cam Skattebo , who shared an emotionally charged message about the absence of his teammate and close friend.

“It was tough… He’s my best friend, so it was pretty emotional for me… But we have to keep going,” Skattebo said, according to SNY Giants on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The connection between Dart and Skattebo goes beyond the playing field. Both arrived at the Giants in the 2025 Draft and quickly built a strong friendship while trying to become important pieces of the organization’s future.

Both players have shown flashes of talent when available, but injuries have complicated their development. Skattebo missed the second half of last season with an ankle injury, while Dart is now sidelined after playing just one game and a bit more in his first season as a starter.

Giants must decide their next move

With Dart out of action, New York will have to evaluate its options. The franchise could explore the market for a backup quarterback or fully bet on Jameis Winston as the one to lead the offense in the upcoming games.

The Giants ’ next game will be this Sunday at home against the Tennessee Titans , a matchup where Winston will have the chance to show he can respond under pressure.
