New York held its breath after Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury during Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium . The Giants quarterback raised alarms by leaving the game after taking a hard hit in the first quarter.

Dart had to be helped off the field and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest, which immediately sparked concern over the possibility of a long-term injury.

However, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen provided a positive update on the young quarterback’s condition, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network .

“He’s going to be okay,” said Schoen.

Although the executive did not reveal a specific diagnosis or an estimated recovery timeline, his words represented an encouraging sign for a franchise that has bet on Dart as the future of the position.

The 23-year-old quarterback finished his participation against the Los Angeles Rams with 3 completions on 5 attempts for 20 yards.

During the offseason, New York emphasized the importance of protecting Dart and preventing him from taking unnecessary hits. The quarterback had already been sent to the medical tent on several occasions during his rookie season and even acknowledged that he is working on changing some habits to stay healthy.

Dart had a promising start to the season after leading the Giants to a 28-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. In that game he completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards , three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Before the matchup against the Rams, Dart had said he was excited to face defensive end Aaron Donald , who returned to the NFL after announcing his retirement in 2025 .

The Giants quarterback stated that Donald was one of the “most dominant players” he watched while growing up and that he looked forward to testing himself against one of the great defensive figures of the recent NFL era .
