Jaxson Dart is mentoring JJ McCarthy like a veteran, reveals Giants offensive lineman
The New York Giants have a quarterback room, including Jameis Winston, that is doing everything to help the team.

It was only Week 2 when New York Giants fans thought their season was already over. Despite a huge Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys , the Giants saw starting quarterback Jaxson Dart go down with a season-ending knee injury the following week, which was also a loss to the Los Angeles Rams .
The team had to turn to veteran Jameis Winston , who picked up two wins and a tie over his first three starts. In the midst of that run, the Giants front office fortified the quarterback room by trading for J.J. McCarthy , who was practically considered a first round bust by the Minnesota Vikings .
In Week 6, McCarthy nearly pulled off an epic comeback in the Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints . He did enough to win the starting job, then went out to pick up a road overtime win over the Houston Texans last week . Now, McCarthy has a full bye week to get more ingrained in the Giants' system.
Jaxson Dart has been side-by-side with JJ McCarthy, helping him prepare for Giants games
As McCarthy gets more comfortable in New York, Dart has actually played a major role in that regard . Despite being 23 years old , the same age as McCarthy, Dart has taken on a mentorship role for his teammate while being sidelined by injury. Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor revealed as much in an interview this week.
Dart has embraced his new role, doing whatever he can to help the team. Whatever he and Winston are doing to help McCarthy prepare for games is clearly working, as this is the best McCarthy has looked in the NFL so far.
