There's a lot of hype surrounding the New York Giants heading into the 2026 NFL season. Rightfully so, as the team made shrewd additions to the roster in the offseason, have an ascending young quarterback in Jaxson Dart , and will now be coached by John Harbaugh .

Yet it's a former Giants superstar returning at 33 years old that may end up being the top storyline. Odell Beckham Jr. , who exploded onto the scene with the Giants in 2014 and made three Pro Bowls in New York, is back with the franchise for the 2026 season.

" OBJ " spent the entire 2025 season out of football, unable to latch on to a team before he was ultimately suspended for six games in October . That came after he failed to make an impact with the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins , all while never recovering his elite form due to a multitude of injuries .

John Harbaugh says OBJ is in the midst of his best week of camp so far

By all accounts, Beckham has looked like a completely different person this summer with the Giants . The reports have been extremely positive. On Wednesday, Harbaugh echoed that sentiment, making a bold claim about OBJ as the season nears.

I think Odell's had a good camp. I would say his best week of camp has come this week. He's looked good and made numerous plays. Just like you saw, even today he made numerous plays. So he's doing well.

Harbaugh hasn't assured anyone that Beckham is going to end up making the 53-man roster for the season. His chances certainly increased following the news that Calvin Austin tore his ACL and is out for the season .

OBJ, Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt might be competing for one or two of the final wide receiver spots. Right now, it seems like Beckham has the upper hand.
