Jalen Hurts caught cussing at Eagles receiver as frustration spills over
The usually composed quarterback snapped at Elijah Moore during Philadelphia’s 24-20 loss to the Rams

Philadelphia Eagles ’ offense looked out of sync from the opening quarter against the Los Angeles Rams , and Jalen Hurts ’ patience was tested almost immediately.
With the Eagles facing second-and-8 and 14:15 remaining in the first quarter, Elijah Moore lined up in a position that would have covered tight end E.J. Jenkins and risked an illegal formation.
Hurts noticed it before the snap: “Get off the f**king ball,” he shouted. Moore appeared to look back toward Hurts , prompting the quarterback to add, “Come on!”
The receiver quickly adjusted, and Philadelphia avoided a penalty. The play gained only one yard, however, and the Eagles eventually punted.
The moment stood out because Hurts rarely shows that kind of emotion publicly. By the end of the afternoon, though, it made more sense.
Eagles offense never found rhythm
Philadelphia managed only 172 total yards and went 0-for-12 on third down in a game it still had a chance to win late.
Hurts finished 12-of-27 for 93 passing yards with two touchdowns, but he was sacked four times and completed only two passes after halftime.
The Eagles had an opportunity to take a three-score lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Hurts’ fourth-and-goal attempt to Darius Cooper from the two-yard line fell incomplete.
Los Angeles responded with a 98-yard touchdown drive and completed the comeback.
“Poor execution. I don’t think there’s any other way to put it,” Hurts said afterward. “I have to be better. I have to figure it out. However it looks, whatever that means.”
Philadelphia has now lost two straight after opening the season 2-0.
Answer is more work, not excuses
Despite the frustration caught on the broadcast, Hurts returned to his familiar tone after the loss.
“I’m not going to make excuses. I’m not going to make promises,” Hurts said. “I’m just going to double down on the work and lead the best way I can and continue to have the confidence that I have in this group to forge and figure it out.”
He also insisted the Eagles are still growing into what they want to become.
“This is a team that is building and finding its way,” Hurts said. “It’s obviously a work in progress.”
The quarterback added: “I have the utmost confidence in this team. I have the utmost confidence in this group.”
The hot-mic moment with Moore should not be overread as a sign of a fractured locker room. What it did reveal was how much Philadelphia’s repeated mistakes are beginning to wear on its quarterback.
The Eagles face Jacksonville next, and the bigger issue is not whether Hurts lost his temper for a few seconds. It's whether Philadelphia can finally clean up the execution problems that caused it.
