Kylie Kelce reveals his underwear preferences and offers advice to Mikaela Shiffrin: “It doesn't squeeze and keeps everything in place”

Kylie Kelce is opening up about her underwear preferences, explaining why she favors thongs and what she looks for when choosing a comfortable pair.

The podcast host recently discussed the subject with Olympic skiing champion Mikaela Shiffrin , sharing her thoughts on fit and finding underwear that works for her body.

During a segment called “Why Tho” on Shiffrin’s What’s the Point podcast, Kelce traced her preference back to her field hockey days. Because the sport frequently required her to squat, she became conscious of visible panty lines beneath her clothes.

Joking about her curvier figure at the time, she explained that she wanted a smooth appearance, primarily for her own comfort and confidence.

“I wanted it to be smooth,” said Kelce . “Not for anybody else but myself, and so I have carried that into my adult life. Here’s the deal. I’ll wear a granny panty. I just, I do prefer a thong.”

Although Kelce acknowledged that she’s happy to wear fuller-coverage underwear, she admitted that thongs remain her preferred choice. Shiffrin , meanwhile, revealed that she generally opts for granny panties, prompting a lighthearted discussion about their differing tastes.

Kelce revealed that she regularly wears just two thong brands, singling out a high-cut design she believes comes from Abercrombie. She appreciates its lightweight fabric and shape, which allows it to sit comfortably on her hips without digging into her sides.

The ideal pair for Kelce shouldn't pull, pinch or feel restrictive. Instead, it should rest naturally against the skin while keeping everything securely in place. She also explained that the design helps her avoid uncomfortable pressure around her hips, making it a practical choice for everyday wear.

Promising to double-check the brand, she offered to send Shiffrin the details so the Olympic champion could consider trying it herself.

The mother of four previously explained that she no longer expects to wear a string bikini, preferring the idea of a high-waisted design or a swimsuit offering more coverage. After welcoming four daughters with her husband, retired Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce , she said she prioritises what feels comfortable for her body.

Beyond fashion and body image, Kelce has also spoken openly about managing the demands of family life. During an appearance on the IMO podcast with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson , she credited her parents, who live nearby, with providing invaluable childcare support.

The couple also employs a nanny during regular working hours, allowing them to balance busy professional schedules while remaining closely involved in raising their children.

“Now, granted, we do have a nanny,” she said. “I always give a shout out because we couldn’t do it without her, but we have her during regular work hours and really nothing outside of that.”
