Jed York prostitution scandal: 49ers owner filed for divorce months before arrest
Jed York’s shocking off-field controversy takes another turn.
The owner of the San Francisco 49ers , Jed York , filed for divorce from his wife Danielle Belluomini just months before being arrested for an alleged attempt to purchase sexual services for $140 , according to court documents .
York filed the petition on May 11 in Santa Clara County . The case also lists the couple’s two minor children as additional parties.
According to records obtained by the California Post , the divorce case has not yet been finalized.
In the filing, York cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. The document states that the couple was married on June 24, 2011 , while the official date of separation is listed as “to be determined.”
The divorce news comes after York was arrested Sunday morning in Ohio, after authorities alleged that the businessman had arranged a sexual encounter with a woman in exchange for $140.
According to police, the 49ers owner was arrested “at the meeting location,” an East Palestine trailer park, after he was allegedly found in possession of the cellphone used to arrange the encounter.
York initially faced charges of soliciting prostitution and possession of criminal tools . However, on Monday he reached a legal agreement and pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct, while also pleading no contest to a charge related to possession of criminal tools.
The 49ers owner was sentenced to one day in jail, though he received credit for time served, and was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines .
The San Francisco 49ers released a statement following their owner’s arrest:
“As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time.”
The NFL also confirmed it was aware of the situation and said the matter will be reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy.
