The millions of dollars the Seahawks are setting aside to bolster their roster before the trade deadline
Seahawks eye potential trade as Jaxon Smith-Njigba lacks consistent support

The Seattle Seahawks could explore an addition to their passing game before the NFL’s November 10 trade deadline, with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy emerging as a possible target.
A trade hasn’t been confirmed, but Seattle’s need for more consistent production beyond its leading receiver makes the speculation worth watching.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba has carried the load through five games, catching 37 passes for 583 yards and seven touchdowns. The numbers from the other wideouts tell a different story.
Veteran Cooper Kupp has recorded 11 receptions for 129 yards and one touchdown, while Rashid Shaheed has nine catches for 96 yards and no scores. That gap leaves Seattle looking for another reliable option who can take pressure off its star.
Jeudy , 27, wouldn’t arrive in Seattle on the strength of his current season. He has managed just eight catches for 81 yards and no touchdowns, as Cleveland has turned to younger receivers.
However, his résumé suggests he may have more to offer than those figures indicate.
In 2024, Jeudy earned Pro Bowl honors after finishing with 90 receptions, 1,229 yards and four touchdowns. He then recorded 50 catches for 602 yards and two scores in 2025.
Jeudy’s contract makes the asking price crucial
Jeudy signed a three-year extension worth $52.5 million with Cleveland, so an acquiring team would be taking on a longer-term commitment rather than simply renting a receiver for the rest of the season.
Seattle would need to believe that a different offensive environment could help him return to the level he showed in 2024. The financial commitment makes draft compensation an important part of any potential deal.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz has reported that the Browns are seeking a pick in the early third- to fourth-round range, although he has questioned whether Cleveland can obtain that return.
Other assessments have valued Jeudy more modestly, with a conditional 2027 fifth-round selection floated as a possible price. That difference could determine whether Seattle views the move as worthwhile.
The Seahawks already have a top target in Smith-Njigba , but no other receiver has exceeded 130 yards through the first five games. Jeudy has demonstrated the ability to produce more than 1,200 receiving yards in a season.
If he can regain that form, he could give Seattle a second downfield threat and make its passing attack harder to defend.
There’s still a gamble involved. Giving up a Day 2 pick for a player with only 81 receiving yards this season would mean betting heavily on past performance.
Seattle could instead wait to see whether Cleveland lowers its demands as the deadline approaches.
If the asking price moves closer to a late-round selection, Jeudy may become an appealing, low-cost gamble.
