Adams’ Bears-Broncos Super Bowl prediction gets roasted by NFL fans

NFL host Kay Adams is standing by a Bears-Broncos matchup despite a wave of skepticism, with most of the criticism aimed squarely at Chicago rather than Denver.

Adams knew her Super Bowl LXI prediction was aggressive. What she didn't expect was just how quickly NFL fans would turn it into a debate.

The FanDuel TV host has picked the Chicago Bears to face the Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium, a matchup that immediately drew pushback because of how far Adams believes Chicago can go.

“I’m getting killed for my Super Bowl teams,” Adams told Rob Gronkowski.

“I said Bears vs Broncos . But I’m getting crushed and it’s not about the Broncos, which obviously, best defense, maybe Bo Nix can pull it out. Sean Payton. People are really killing me on the Bears.”

Then she put the question directly to Gronkowski : “How bad is my Super Bowl pick?”

Denver is easier to defend

The Broncos are coming off a 14-3 season and a trip to the AFC Championship Game, which makes Adams ’ confidence in Denver easier to understand. She's also been vocal about how highly she rates the roster.

“The [Broncos have the] most complete roster already in the NFL, and then they bring in, which is somehow still being slept on, Jaylen Waddle,” Adams said.

“I cannot for the life of me understand why this team is getting the eighth-longest odds in the conference right now.”

Adams isn't alone in that assessment. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky has also argued that Denver is being overlooked despite finishing as the AFC’s No.1 seed last season.

“This roster is absolutely loaded,” Orlovsky said. “They are the best team that, for some reason, we are constantly overlooking.”

That makes Chicago the real swing factor in Adams ’ prediction.

Bears pick has fans pushing back

Some fans believe the Bears ’ 2025 success will be difficult to repeat, while others think Chicago is being dismissed too easily.

“The Bears are going to show all y’all that it wasn’t all some mysterious apparition happening last season,” one fan wrote. “They have a top-notch coach with a quarterback that has that clutch gene everyone talks about.”

Another pointed to Caleb Williams ’ late-game play even before Chicago’s recent rise: “I mean year one with Caleb he led a lot of drives late in game that were foiled by terrible coaching decisions,” the fan wrote.

Another fan rejected the idea that last season should simply be written off as a one-off run. “Saying last year was magical without even making the Super Bowl and then saying it doesn’t happen two years in a row is almost hater type talk,” the fan said.

That is ultimately the bet Adams is making. Denver has already shown it can reach the final stages of the AFC race. Chicago still has to prove it belongs in that same category. Adams is betting that 2026 is the year it does.
