Will the NFL be able to convince Taylor Swift to perform at the Super Bowl LXI halftime show?
A Super Bowl in Nashville could give Swift the perfect stage — but not until 2030

Taylor Swift remains one of the biggest names the NFL could possibly land for its Super Bowl halftime show, but the circumstances surrounding Super Bowl LXI may make a deal particularly difficult.
The 2027 championship game is scheduled for February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, meaning it’ll take place on Valentine’s Day. That date could be a significant factor for Swift , especially following her marriage to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
Swift and Kelce married on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden, adding another layer to the singer’s connection with the NFL. With Kelce playing this season, the possibility of him playing in the Super Bowl would obviously change the situation.
However, at 36 and in his 14th NFL season, questions about his future have continued to follow the Chiefs tight end.
The NFL has reportedly continued to regard Swift as a dream halftime-show performer. Roc Nation, which works with the league on the entertainment strategy for the event, is also involved in the selection process.
Yet reports have consistently stressed that Swift ultimately controls whether she wants to accept such an opportunity.
Why 2027 may not be Swift’s year
Location could be another important consideration. Nashville has long been associated with Swift’s career, having played a major role in her development as a country and pop superstar. Reports have previously suggested that performing at a Super Bowl in Nashville would be particularly appealing to her.
That possibility now has a concrete date attached to it. The NFL has awarded Super Bowl LXIV to Nashville for 2030, with the game set to be played at the Tennessee Titans’ new stadium.
The decision makes Nashville a potential future destination for Swift if she eventually decides the Super Bowl stage is right for her.
That doesn’t mean Los Angeles is automatically ruled out. There’s currently no public confirmation that Swift has rejected an offer for Super Bowl LXI, nor has the NFL officially announced its halftime performer.
Swift also has plenty keeping her occupied away from football. Her latest music project, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, is scheduled to add four tracks to her 2025 album. She’s also set to make a major appearance at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, where her “Patient Zero” video will premiere.
The video, directed by Swift , stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson and will add another high-profile project to an already busy period in her career.
Swift would undoubtedly represent an enormous halftime attraction for the NFL. But with Valentine’s Day, Kelce’s ongoing career and the prospect of a future Super Bowl in Nashville, 2027 may not be the moment when the league finally gets its wish.
