One of the best parts of joint practices during NFL training camp is that it allows players to get up close and personal with each other in a way that's not possible during a regular game.

This week, that meant two of the game's most talented young quarterbacks, Caleb Williams and Cam Ward , went head-to-head. By all accounts, both QBs played well during the practice. While that's expected of Williams coming off of a breakout season, Ward can't say the same.

Caleb Williams advises Cam Ward to "trust" Brian Daboll

Ward's preseason with the Tennessee Titans has left something to be desired. Williams knows all too well what it's like to be a No. 1 overall pick with sky-high expectations , so he decided to leave Ward with one big piece of advice for his second season: to trust his offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll .

I think he has an awesome coordinator that's been in the league for [a while now]. He's been an awesome offensive coordinator and he's been in different places with different quarterbacks. And he has a good track record with different quarterbacks that he's been with. Just believing and trusting in him, and what he's coaching you and teaching you... We have some similarities in our game, being able to make big plays, [it's important to] keep consistent and make the small plays. I'm still working on that myself.

It was no surprise to see Williams take a big step forward in 2025 once he had offensive guru Ben Johnson to learn from. Ward is hoping Daboll and him can develop a similar type of chemistry that Williams and Johnson have.
