Stefon Diggs is continuing to fight allegations made by influencer Christopher Griffith, denying wrongdoing in a fresh court filing as their increasingly complicated legal dispute unfolds.

The Washington Commanders receiver also maintains that comments he made about Griffith on social media were truthful and legally protected.

Griffith previously accused Diggs of drugging and sexually assaulting him at the NFL player's Maryland home in 2023. He further alleged that Diggs subsequently arranged for others to attack him and claimed approximately $100,000 worth of personal belongings were stolen during the incident.

Diggs has consistently denied the accusations, which haven't been established in court.

The controversy has resulted in multiple legal proceedings. Griffith and Diggs ' brother, Darez , previously reached an undisclosed settlement over a lawsuit involving the alleged assault and missing property.

However, Diggs subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against Griffith in 2025, arguing that the accusations had damaged his reputation.

Griffith responded with a countersuit, insisting his allegations were legitimate. His legal team also accused Diggs of defaming their client by suggesting the sexual misconduct claims originated from an unsuccessful robbery attempt.

In the latest court response, Diggs ' attorneys rejected the allegations and defended his previous social media comments. Attorney Mitch Schuster described the filing as a routine denial of liability and expressed satisfaction with the judge's decision to reject Griffith's request to transfer the proceedings to another venue.

Schuster added that Diggs remains confident about presenting his defamation case before a jury.

Legal troubles continue as Chiefs trade speculation emerges

Griffith's attorneys previously submitted more than 100 pages of messages to the court, claiming the material supports their client's account. However, the contents haven't been publicly disclosed. Diggs subsequently questioned the submission on Instagram, challenging Griffith to make the messages available.

While the legal battle continues, Diggs ' playing future has also become a talking point around the NFL.

Sports Illustrated insider Albert Breer recently suggested the Kansas City Chiefs could explore a trade for the veteran receiver before the November 10 deadline. Appearing on The Herd, Breer explained why Diggs could become an intriguing addition alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“The one that’s fascinating to me is whether you can get Stefon Diggs out of Washington,” Breer said.

“There are jobs on the line in Washington, so I’m not sure they’ll be willing to give him up, especially after they lost Terry McLaurin for the year.”

The receiver previously developed productive partnerships with Josh Allen in Buffalo and Drake Maye in New England, demonstrating his ability to adapt to different quarterbacks.

Kansas City has struggled to generate explosive offensive plays, increasing speculation about potential reinforcements. However, Washington might be reluctant to move Diggs , particularly after Terry McLaurin was sidelined for the remainder of the season. Diggs joined the Commanders on a one-year contract worth $12 million.

His off-field issues have also attracted attention. In May, Diggs was found not guilty of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges involving his former personal chef, Jamila Adams. The NFL subsequently closed its investigation, citing insufficient evidence of a personal-conduct policy violation.
