Simone Biles has once again shown her support for Suni Lee as the Olympic champion continues rebuilding her gymnastics career following a challenging period away from competition.

Lee recently gave fans another glimpse of her comeback by sharing training footage on Instagram. The 23-year-old gymnast was seen working across several events, including balance beam, uneven bars and vault.

Her session featured controlled drills, flips and difficult skills as she continues rebuilding the consistency and confidence required at the elite level.

She captioned the update, “back into the swing of thinggss!! some fun gym updates & progress for you guys.”

The footage is another encouraging moment in a comeback Lee officially announced in July. After stepping away from competition following the 2024 Paris Olympics, she confirmed that she’s returning to training with the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in mind.

“I know what I’m capable of,” Lee said when announcing her comeback, adding that she was prepared to do whatever it takes to reach another Games.

Lee’s journey has involved more than simply taking time away from gymnastics because in 2023 she was diagnosed with two kidney diseases, forcing her to temporarily step away from the sport.

She eventually returned to competition and went on to win three medals at Paris 2024, including team gold and bronze medals in the all-around and uneven bars.

Biles has already helped Lee through a difficult moment

Biles ’ support for Lee has a particularly meaningful history. During the 2024 U.S. Championships, Lee had a difficult vault and walked into a tunnel to regain her composure. Biles went to check on her and offered reassurance based partly on her own experience with the “twisties” at the Tokyo Olympics.

Lee later said Biles helped restore her confidence, while Biles explained that she understood what Lee was experiencing and wanted her teammate to trust her gymnastics again. Biles even stayed nearby while Lee competed on uneven bars, where Lee responded with a strong routine.

Now, Biles has offered another small show of encouragement. After Lee posted her latest training footage, Biles commented with two tea emojis. A fan then jokingly replied to Biles , “Your turn,” referencing the possibility of her own return.

That possibility remains unresolved. In April 2026, Biles said she was still “50-50” on competing at the 2028 Olympics, explaining that mental health would play a major role in her decision.

Lee is the one actively working toward Los Angeles. Each new training clip offers another indication that she’s gradually finding her rhythm again.

With Biles continuing to cheer her on, their Olympic connection remains just as strong away from the competition floor.
