Elon Musk warns about the change mobile phones will undergo before 2030
Artificial intelligence will be key in this project

Elon Musk, among his multiple projects, would have the manufacture of a mobile phone powered by artificial intelligence (AI) , a rumor that began last year, 2025, but which is still not underway, as he himself explained on the podcast "Joe Rogan Experience".'
For the moment, he assured that manufacturing will not begin "unless necessary", since he does not want to launch a mobile phone onto the market, but rather "a way that is very different from the most traditional sense of what a mobile phone is".
'“We will not have a mobile phone in the traditional sense. What we will call a phone will actually be a peripheral node for AI inference with wireless connections. The artificial intelligence on the server will communicate with the AI on your device and generate real-time video of anything you can imagine" , was his explanation.'
Elon Musk's estimate for being able to begin its development
And this device would not be subject to operating systems or applications; it will only have a screen and audio, with AI and the human as the central focus: "Anything you can think of, or really anything AI can anticipate you might want, it will show you. Probably within five or six years."
He already presented this idea at a Neuralink event, in 2025 : “In the future, physical devices such as smartphones will be obsolete,” he stated, since everything will go through implants and AI: “In a few years, these implants will be safe and advanced enough to be adopted on a massive scale”.
He wants to create people directly connected with technology, something that began in January 2024, when Neuralink achieved a technological milestone by implanting its first brain chip in Noland Arbaugh, who had quadriplegia after an accident in 2016.
Thanks to this device, Arbaugh regained digital autonomy by controlling a computer with his mind, even being able to play video games.
