Everything Apple announced at keynote event: Way more than just the iPhone Duo
Apple is releasing two new phones, two new watches, and a new audio product.
Every September, the hype begins building for a fresh new slate of upcoming products set to be released by Apple . Without fail, this year's keynote presentation was no different.
Dubbed " Surprise and Shine ", the event was a rousing success - at least for Apple fans. Five new products were announced , with all five taking up plenty of time during the presentation. Features and release dates were revealed, and it won't be long before tech enthusiasts can get their hands on all of it.
Apple reveals iPhone Duo, their first foldable phone
The top product and most-anticipated one in the new lineup was the iPhone Duo . The Duo is Apple's first foldable phone , one that's been in the works for a long time. Apple fell behind other major phone manufacturers in this space, but the Duo is finally arriving to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and others.
The Duo is expected to release on October 23 . Pre-orders begin one week prior. It will come in two colors, Star White and Night Sky. The entry point 256GB version will retail for $1,999 , while the max 2TB version will cost a whopping $3,199 .
iPhone 18 Pro keeps similar design, upgrades internals
While the Duo stole the show, the iPhone 18 Pro will be the true seller for Apple in the grand scheme of things. The 18 Pro is stated to have much better battery life and performance with its A20 Pro chip than the 17 Pro. The new camera system will also feature a variable aperture lens.
The iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders begin on September 12 , with the phone's full release coming on September 18 . There will be a standard 6.3 inch display model, as well as the 6.9 inch Pro Max edition. The four available colors are Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black. Pricing will begin at $1,199 for the base model and go up to $2,399 for the 2TB version. The Pro Max will cost $100 more across the board.
Apple updates both the Watch Ultra and regular Watch Series
It wasn't just the iPhones getting updated this time around. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 were both announced. Both have added more health and quality of life features. Both will be available for purchase starting on September 18 . The Series 12 will be available in a Ceramic finish option.
Apple updates their earbuds line with the AirPods 5
It might not be as flashy as the AirPods Pro line, but the AirPods 4 marked a major breakthrough for the earphones that sit outside of the ear without silicone tips, adding ANC in what many considered a more comfortable form factor.
The AirPods 5 are set to take things up a notch, with Apple claiming that this version will cancel noise up to 1.5 times better than the previous generation. The sound is set to be much improved, as well. There will be two versions, both with ANC: AirPods 5 for $129 and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case for $149 . The more expensive option gives you slightly improved battery life. They will be available for purchase on September 18 .
