IShowSpeed steals Apple’s iPhone Duo launch with history-making backflip in front of CEO
Speed turned Apple’s carefully controlled event into his own euphoric show while holding the company’s first foldable iPhone

A pple waited years to unveil its first foldable iPhone. IShowSpeed needed only a few seconds to find something nobody else had done with it.
Standing in front of new Apple CEO John Ternus and holding the brand-new iPhone Duo , the 21-year-old streamer suddenly decided that simply testing the device was not enough. He wanted to make history or at least create the first viral moment of Apple’s new era.

“But wait, I gotta be the first person to do a backflip holding an iPhone Duo,” Speed said as the idea entered his mind in real time. “Chat, we should make history right now.”
Moments later, Speed launched himself backward, completed a full rotation and landed safely without dropping Apple’s most expensive new iPhone . The room erupted as he celebrated becoming, by his own declaration, the first person to perform a backflip while holding an iPhone Duo.
“First person,” he shouted before turning the stunt into a perfect joke about the phone’s defining feature. “I flipped. I flipped the iPhone.”
Ternus could only watch as Speed transformed what is normally a carefully controlled Apple demonstration into something chaotic, spontaneous and unmistakably his. After completing the stunt, Speed casually looked at the CEO and asked: “All right, John. Do you want your phone back?”
The moment brought together two completely different worlds. Apple had just introduced a $1,999 device designed to represent the future of its most important product. Speed immediately treated it like a prop in one of his livestreams and somehow gave the iPhone Duo one of its first unforgettable demonstrations.
Apple’s foldable phone features a 7.6-inch interior display, a 5.4-inch exterior screen, the A20 Pro chip and support for the Apple Pencil. It can run two applications side by side and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 23.
Speed’s day became even more surreal when he met New Orleans Pelicans star DeAndre Jordan live on stream. The 6-foot-11 center admitted he wanted the new foldable iPhone Duo for one simple reason: his hands are too big for a regular phone.
Foldable phones have existed for years, but Apple’s arrival could finally push the category into the mainstream. Before that happens, however, IShowSpeed has already claimed a tiny piece of iPhone history in the most IShowSpeed way possible: by risking a $2,000 phone, flying backward through the air and turning directly to his audience to celebrate-
