PlayStation finally unveils transparent controllers with three new "Prism" DualSense colorways
PlayStation will also release PS5 console covers in the same colors.
It hasn't exactly been a smooth 2026 for PlayStation . The company has angered loyal fans in a big way this year, particularly with announcements about pivoting to purely digital games over physical, as well as internal issues with pivotal game developers.
Despite all of that, PlayStation is still chugging along with new releases in all facets. One particular area where they haven't stopped "innovating" has been colorways for the DualSense controller. There have now been countless releases over the years, spanning from first-party game exclusive designs to more traditional colorways.
PlayStation to release transparent DualSense controllers
On Wednesday, PlayStation announced three new colorways for the DualSense , but this time around it's actually a truly new design. Dubbed the " Prism Collection ", the controllers will come with a transparent design, with the internal parts of the controllers visible to the user .
The three colors for the launch will be Flare Orange , Emerald Green , and Graphite Gray . In addition to the controllers, the colorways will also come in the form of console covers for the PlayStation 5 .
Thankfully, PlayStation isn't charging much of a premium for the new designs. The Prism Collection DualSense controllers will retail for $84.99 , while the console covers will be $74.99 . It will be a while before customers can get their hands on the products, as they will launch on February 4, 2027 . Pre-orders will begin this November 10 .
