In 1995, the first 007 film starring actor Pierce Brosnan was released in movie theaters. That same year on the courts of F lushing Meadows in New York, the world No. 1 in tennis, Pete Sampras, managed to win what would be his third US Open; the Californian still had two more US Opens left to win, while for the Irishman, his career as 007 would last seven years, the time it took him to film ‘GoldenEye’ (1995), ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ (1997), ‘The World Is Not Enough’ (1999) and ‘Die Another Day’ (2002).

But in this edition of the United States tennis tournament, the fourth Grand Slam of the season, we were able to witness one of the nicest, funniest and even most brilliant moments of this edition, and it was not precisely because of a move on the court or a brilliant forehand by some tennis player or a spectacular backhand by one of the women who played in the women's final . The moment came thanks to the television director and the stopwatch showing the elapsed time in the match.

It is common that, during matches, the director looks for the time clock when it is about to change to the exact match time, or the next one, a shot with the clock at 0:59 and at the moment it changes to 1:00, the shot goes to the court and we already know that at that moment one hour of the match has elapsed.

But, on this occasion, the television director was quick-witted, spotted the celebrities in the stands and, after noticing Brosnan, had a brilliant idea . He focused on the timer with the match barely underway (the scoreboard showed one game to love) and at the moment it read 0:07, he dissolved the shot into one of the actor watching the match from the stands , subtle but effective.

Many viewers noticed the situation and soon social media picked up on it, stirring sympathy among them all .

The match ultimately ended in favor of the German Zverev , who defeated the American Shelton by three sets to one (6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 6-2).
