The Mexican wrestler Hijo de Fishman was arrested after throwing referee Gerardo Germán Pineda into the ring and then delivering a "piledriver" (also known as a martinete or neckbraker), a move banned due to its high danger.

"Telemundo" reported that the 75-year-old referee, who in his wrestling days was known as El Búho , died in the ring .

'An eyewitness claims that Hijo de Fishman and the referee argued before the fatal incident, which took place at the Centro Deportivo Cultural 11 de Julio , in Mineral de la Reforma (Mexico) during an event called "Disloyalties" .'

Hijo de Fishman, who is a second-generation wrestler ( he is the son of José Ángel Nájera Sánchez ), was taking part in the main event against Máscara Sagrada NG.

Municipal police officers detained him and handed him over to the Attorney General's Office of the State of Hidalgo , which could charge the wrestler with negligent homicide.
