Dwight Howard faces a massive loss as he slashes the asking price of his Georgia mansion
The former NBA star cut $1.6 million from the Suwanee estate’s price
D wight Howard has lowered the asking price of his Georgia mansion by $1.6 million, just two months after putting it back on the market for $14.5 million. The Suwanee estate is now listed for $12.9 million.
The price cut is a steep one, but it does not mean Howard has taken a loss on the property. He bought the estate for $8.8 million in 2016, and its current asking price remains $4.1 million above that figure. That is before accounting for renovations, taxes, selling costs or any final sale price.
Dwight Howard’s mansion is still listed above its original asking price
Howard first listed the home for $11.25 million in January 2025. After it failed to sell and was taken off the market, the property returned in September 2026 at $14.5 million $3.25 million above its initial asking price. The latest reduction brings it to $1.65 million more than that original listing.
The estate spans about 14 acres and includes a 26,233-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms. Its amenities include a movie theater, a saltwater pool, an orchard, a private lake and a two-story fitness pavilion.
Howard bought the property the same year he joined the Atlanta Hawks. The Atlanta native played 18 NBA seasons, earned eight All-Star selections and won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
The listing describes the sale as part of a “new chapter abroad,” but Howard has not publicly explained why he is selling.
His recent basketball moves offer some context: after announcing his retirement in March, he signed with Black Fortress Tbilisi in Georgia and played two games before retiring again in October.
Howard has also started pursuing a business degree, returning to school at 40 after going straight from high school to the NBA as the No. 1 pick in 2004.
