A yesha Curry 's latest acting role was supposed to mark an exciting new chapter in her career, but the release of her first feature film as a leading actress has instead reignited scrutiny of her marriage to Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry .

The 36-year-old found herself responding to criticism on Thursday after a kissing scene featuring her and actor Matthew Daddario in the Christmas romantic comedy Second Chance Holiday circulated widely across social media.

Some viewers questioned why Ayesha would participate in a romantic storyline involving another man, with several comments referencing her 15-year marriage to the four-time NBA champion.

However, Ayesha appeared unimpressed by the reaction, dismissing the suggestion that a scripted performance should raise questions about her personal relationship.

"It's not even real you guys are annoying," she wrote on X on November 5, shortly after the film premiered on The Roku Channel.

Her response followed several days of discussion surrounding the movie, although Stephen had already made his position clear by publicly supporting his wife's return to acting.

The controversy began attracting attention after Roku released the film's official trailer on October 27, introducing audiences to Ayesha 's character, Chelsey Banks.

Chelsey is a dating expert who repeatedly experiences romantic disappointments during the holiday season, leading her to believe she is cursed when it comes to relationships.

Her fortunes appear to change when she returns home and reconnects with her former high school sweetheart, played by Daddario , providing the central romantic storyline.

The scene that eventually went viral depicts the fictional couple kissing, prompting some social media users to question Steph 's feelings about his wife's performance.

However, the Warriors guard had already celebrated the project before its release, praising Ayesha 's work and expressing excitement about her latest opportunity.

"My Leading Lady. I get to see the work behind the scenes and now the world gets to see you shine and this is just the beginning," Stephen wrote on X.

His message offered a clear indication of his support, although he has not publicly addressed the specific kissing scene.

Ayesha defended marriage against online critics

The latest controversy is familiar territory for Ayesha , whose relationship with Steph has repeatedly attracted unsolicited commentary throughout their marriage.

In 2022, she challenged a social media user who suggested the couple maintained an open relationship, making clear that she would not tolerate disrespectful speculation.

She also faced criticism in September 2025 when rapper Killer Mike joined an online discussion questioning her marriage, prompting Steph to defend his wife publicly.

Away from those controversies, Ayesha has continued expanding her professional interests beyond cooking, entrepreneurship and lifestyle television.

Her previous acting credits include Netflix's Irish Wish alongside Lindsay Lohan and the 2025 holiday comedy Joy to the World.

Second Chance Holiday represents her first leading role in a feature film, an achievement she had described as particularly meaningful because of her affection for romantic comedies.

Rather than addressing the latest criticism at length, Ayesha chose a brief response that reinforced the distinction between her acting career and her marriage.

With Steph already celebrating her achievement, the online debate hasn't produced any public indication of disagreement between the couple.
