Shaquille O’Neal was once at a car dealership and one question from a salesman made him spend $1.3 million
Shaq is usually frugal, but he couldn't help himself on one occasion.
Much has been made about Shaquille O'Neal 's financial decisions, both during and after his legendary basketball career. Brand deals during his playing days brought in loads of money, in addition to big-time contracts.
But since retiring, O'Neal has pulled all of the right strings as an entrepreneur. He has aligned himself with incredibly successful businesses, all while making sure to not overspend. But he has admitted that there was one moment where he let his emotions get the best of him, and it was due to a car salesman .
Shaq told the story once of a time where he visited a Rolls-Royce dealership. He didn't have much intention of actually making a purchase, instead doing a little bit of window shopping. But an incessant salesman rubbed O'Neal the wrong way by outright asking him if he even had enough money to purchase a vehicle , since he didn't even seem interested in doing so.
Shaquille O'Neal once bought three Rolls-Royce Phantoms, and never even used them
O'Neal took that as a challenge, and ended up buying three Rolls-Royce Phantoms that day. It was approximately a bill of $1.3 million . The 7-foot-1 basketball star had to request that the cars be modified to fit his frame. Ultimately, even after delivery, Shaq couldn't comfortably fit in the cars. So he never even used them .
For someone who has always been cautious with his money, that proved to be arguably O'Neal's biggest regret, simply because he let his ego - and the salesman - get the best of him.
