Stephen Curry rushes past Klay Thompson, but son Canon watches as the former Warriors star returns to face Golden State in a Heat jersey
Thompson returns to Chase Center in a Miami uniform after helping the Warriors win four championships

Klay Thompson’s return to the Bay Area got a warm welcome from two familiar faces. The Warriors shared a post showing Stephen Curry and his son Canon greeting Thompson before Miami’s game against Golden State on Thursday night. It’s Thompson’s first time back at Chase Center wearing a Heat uniform.
Thompson spent 13 seasons with the Warriors, winning four NBA championships alongside Curry as one half of the “Splash Brothers.” Their partnership helped define Golden State’s dynasty, making this reunion a little different from a regular stop on Miami’s road trip.

Thompson arrives in the Bay Area after a memorable night against the Los Angeles Clippers . He scored 30 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with one second left in overtime to give Miami a 117-116 win.
It was his first 30-point game since 2024, when he was still with Golden State.
He said seeing his former teammates would make the game special. “I just can’t wait to go back and see familiar faces,” Thompson said, adding that he has “friends for life” in the Bay Area.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr also welcomed the reunion, praising Thompson and Andrew Wiggins for what they brought to Golden State’s championship teams.
The Heat and Warriors tip off at 10 p.m. ET at Chase Center, with the game airing on NBA TV.
Thompson will get to see old friends again this time, with his new team across the court.
