S tephen Curry gave fans a taste of his shooting magic before the Warriors’ season opener. In a clip shared by Golden State , he launched a high-arcing shot from 30 feet that dropped through the net. “OMG what a SHOT from 30,” the team wrote.

The shot set an electric tone for the night, but the game ended with the Lakers celebrating a 127-105 win . It was Golden State’s first game of the season and the Lakers’ first since LeBron James left for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Curry started hot, but the Lakers took control

Curry helped keep the game close early. He scored 16 points in the first quarter, which ended with Los Angeles up 34-33. The Lakers then closed the first half with a 17-4 run and took a 66-52 lead into the break.

Curry finished with 23 points, two rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes. He scored 20 points in the first half but managed only three in the third quarter, then sat out the entire fourth. He shot 7-for-15 from the field and made two of his seven three-point attempts.

Doncic led Los Angeles with 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. He scored 23 before halftime and hit a shot from near half court at the buzzer. Austin Reaves added 23 points, while Walker Kessler had 26 points and nine rebounds in his Lakers debut, making all 12 of his shots.

The Lakers broke the game open in the third, outscoring Golden State 36-16. They led 102-68 entering the fourth, allowing Doncic to sit out the final quarter of his first game since April.

Curry’s pregame shot was the night’s jaw-dropping highlight before tipoff, but the Warriors couldn’t carry that energy through the game. The Lakers started their post-LeBron season with a dominant win, while Golden State left Los Angeles with an opening-night loss.

LeBron James lands on Trump’s list of people accused of disrespecting America

LeBron James has drawn criticism from Donald Trump after the president accused the Philadelphia 76ers star of disrespecting America during the national anthem. Trump shared a video on Truth Social showing James stretching his arms and mimicking basketball shots alongside his teammates before a game, calling on the NBA legend to apologize to American heroes who died defending the country. While some viewers believe James was simply using golf swings as part of his warmup, the footage prompted Trump's public reaction. The controversy comes after James made his competitive debut for the 76ers, leading the team to a 106-100 win over the defending champion New York Knicks.
