There will be no NBA so that the United States can go vote
The midterm elections are being held
The NBA will not schedule games in the early hours from Tuesday to Wednesday due to the United States midterm election day , and to encourage fans and the league community to vote.
Americans are called to renew the entire House of Representatives and one third of the Senate, as well as elect state and local offices.
The competition leaves election day free for the fourth time in the last five years. The initiative began in 2022 and continued in 2023 and 2024 , before the league scheduled games on that date in 2025 .
The NBA announced the reinstatement of this measure when unveiling the 2026-2027 season schedule and explained that it seeks to encourage its community to plan their vote.
All 30 teams had games scheduled this Monday, and the competition will resume on Wednesday, November 4, with 14 matchups.
