There was no need for Angel Reese to answer any of her critics Thursday night. Her stat line did it for her.

The Atlanta Dream forward produced a flawless shooting performance in a 124-88 rout of the Los Angeles Sparks , finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals while going 9-for-9 from the field and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.

Yet one of the most memorable moments came before the final buzzer.

After making WNBA history during the first half, Reese turned toward the crowd, covered her mouth and waved before posing with her back to the stands.

The Dream bench rose to celebrate with her as fans inside Crypto.com Arena responded enthusiastically.

By halftime, Reese had already gone 8-for-8 while recording at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, becoming the first player in WNBA history to reach those marks in a half without missing a shot.

Perfect shooting night and record-breaking performance

The history didn't stop there. According to ESPN Insights, Reese became only the third player in WNBA history to record a 20-point double-double while shooting 100% from the field.

She also became the first player in league history to finish a game with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists without missing a field goal.

“ANGEL REESE LEGACY GAME,” Real App posted during the performance.

Another post summed it up even more simply: “Angel Reese had a perfect game.” ESPN's Sam Block added: “Y'all can keep hating. She's gonna keep hooping.”

That reaction carried particular weight because Reese 's offensive efficiency has frequently been scrutinized. Seven of her nine baskets came from within three feet, while the other two came from beyond the 3-point line.

Reese breaks another record

Reese also collected her 173rd offensive rebound of the season, breaking the single-season WNBA record she had established with 172 during her rookie year with the Chicago Sky in 2024.

Before Reese , the mark belonged to Yolanda Griffith , who grabbed 162 offensive rebounds for the Sacramento Monarchs in 2001.

The milestone added to a season already packed with them. Reese became the fastest player in league history to reach 1,000 career rebounds, getting there in 79 games, and has also established a new Dream single-season rebounding record.

Atlanta's entire offense was nearly unstoppable against Los Angeles. The Dream shot 64% from the field and 62% from 3-point range, with Rhyne Howard scoring a game-high 26 points and Jordin Canada handing out 11 assists.

The Sparks , playing without Kelsey Plum , never recovered from a 34-12 first quarter and trailed by as many as 42. Atlanta is now firmly in the race for home-court advantage in the postseason.

Thursday, however, belonged to Reese . A perfect shooting night, multiple pieces of WNBA history and one celebratory reaction ensured everyone inside the building knew it.
