Caitlin Clark ‘signs’ Donna Kelce to the Indiana Fever after realizing she can help them win WNBA title
A memorable night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse has convinced Clark that the Kelce family might have an unexpected role to play in Indiana's future success
Caitlin Clark has found an unlikely candidate to help the Indiana Fever return to championship contention, and her latest recruiting effort involves someone with considerably more experience watching professional football than playing basketball.
The Fever guard has jokingly invited Donna Kelce to become a regular presence at Gainbridge Fieldhouse after the mother of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce attended one of Indiana's most convincing victories of the 2026 WNBA season.
Donna watched the Fever defeat the Minnesota Lynx 96-77 during their final regular-season home game, prompting Clark to suggest that her presence might have contributed to the team's impressive performance.
The 24-year-old revealed the exchange during an appearance on Kylie Kelce 's Not Gonna Lie podcast, where the conversation turned to Donna's recent visit and her growing connection with Indiana basketball.
Clark recalled speaking with Donna after the game and encouraging her to return, suggesting the Kelce family might have discovered another sporting tradition beyond supporting the Kansas City Chiefs .
Clark reveals special invitation for Donna Kelce
Kylie introduced the conversation by mentioning how much her mother-in-law had enjoyed watching Clark and her teammates compete in Indianapolis.
"Recently, my own mother-in-law had the absolute pleasure of coming to watch you guys [Indiana Fever] play," Kylie said.
Clark immediately remembered the occasion, revealing that Donna had received an open invitation following Indiana's dominant performance against Minnesota.
"She did, and she came to a good one, she might be a good luck charm. I told her afterwards, I was like 'Donna, you're invited back'," Clark explained.
"She said she had a lot of fun. That was the game I wore the Friendship Bracelet shoes to, so it worked out well. She had a good spot; it was fun."
Donna attended the game wearing Clark 's No.22 jersey, with the pair sharing a conversation before tipoff as the Fever prepared for their final home appearance of the regular season.
The victory provided a memorable conclusion to Indiana's home schedule, although the team subsequently suffered postseason disappointment against the Las Vegas Aces .
Clark's friendship with Kelce family continues to grow
Clark 's playful invitation reflects a friendship that has developed through her longstanding support of the Kansas City Chiefs and her connections with the Kelce family.
The former Iowa star has attended Chiefs games alongside Taylor Swift and previously appeared on Travis and Jason 's New Heights podcast, strengthening a relationship that now extends beyond football.
She also recently gifted both brothers and Kansas City head coach Andy Reid pairs of her Nike Caitlin 1 signature sneakers, which have attracted considerable attention since their release.
During her conversation with Kylie, Clark acknowledged that her loyalty to Kansas City remains strong despite playing professionally in Indianapolis.
The Fever star explained that she enjoys supporting the Colts but was reluctant to wear their jersey during a recent NFL appearance, particularly given her established allegiance to the Chiefs .
Indiana will now turn its attention toward the 2027 WNBA season after finishing sixth in 2026, with Clark hoping the franchise can build on its progress.
Whether Donna actually brings good fortune remains uncertain, but her next visit to Gainbridge Fieldhouse would certainly receive a warm welcome from the Fever 's biggest star.
