Jesús de Miguel has passed away this Tuesday following the accident he suffered this Monday against Andorra . Tenerife , team from Spain's Second Division has announced the sad news through its social media channels.
The sports club had stated last night in a post on the social network X that " Jesús de Miguel's medical condition has worsened neurologically ", after the footballer initially remained under observation at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital .
The same club was responsible for announcing at eight in the morning the sad news of the player's death. The incident took place this Monday in the final stretch of the match against FC Andorra played at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, when the Tenerife attacker collided with the visiting goalkeeper, Jesús Owono , while contesting a loose ball.
The collision forced the match to be definitively suspended in the 108th minute to allow medical services onto the field, where they treated the footballer on the pitch before immediately evacuating him by ambulance to the hospital.
