Dafne Keen Recalls Being Offered Cocaine at 11, Praises ‘Incredibly Protective’ Hugh Jackman

D afne Keen was only 11 years old when she filmed ‘ Logan ’ , the movie that made her one of Hollywood 's breakout stars. Now, at 21, the Madrid-born actress has spoken about the darker side of growing up in the film industry: at wrap parties, she was offered cocaine when she was still just a child.

She explained it on the podcast ‘Inside of You’ , hosted by actor Michael Rosenbaum . Speaking about her relationship with alcohol , Keen admitted that she has never drunk enough to get a hangover, because she is very controlling about that, and she attributes it to what she saw when she was little.

“They offered me cocaine at end-of-shoot parties” , she recalled. When the host asked her how old she was, the answer left him surprised: 11, 12, or 13 years old. The actress said that, luckily, she always said no, and that having witnessed that as a child took away any interest she might have had in drugs. Keen has not revealed who offered her those substances or in which productions it happened.

Hugh Jackman, her ‘father’ on and off the screen

Her experience on the set of ‘Logan’ was very different, where she played Laura, also known as X-23 , alongside Hugh Jackman . The actress described the actor who played Wolverine as a true father figure who protected her throughout the entire production.

According to her, Jackman made sure that no one took advantage of her working hours, that she had fun on set, and that she remained unaware of any tensions that might be going on behind the scenes. In addition, he gave her good advice and plenty of positive reinforcement.

“He’s the best on-screen dad”, Keen summed up, and since then she has continued to grow as an actress in titles such as the series ‘His Dark Materials’ and ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’.

The actress stepped back into the role of X-23 in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ (2024), a return that fans of the saga celebrated.
