The milestone celebration brought Drake together with family and friends in New York City, where the rapper marked his birthday with an extravagant party featuring lavish gifts, cash prizes and a performance by the Backstreet Boys. Sharing the spotlight with his dad added a personal touch to an evening otherwise defined by high-end entertainment. Drake turned 40 on Saturday, Oct. 24, and began the festivities Friday night at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan. An attendee told PEOPLE that the event was “so elegant, over the top and expensive,” describing a lavishly decorated venue and a guest list of approximately 400 people.
