Jennifer Lopez stuns in daring Barbarella costume for Halloween
Jennifer Lopez channels Jane Fonda's iconic 1968 sci-fi character in a series of sizzling Halloween photographs

Jennifer Lopez took Halloween glamour into outer space, unveiling a striking transformation inspired by one of cinema’s most memorable science-fiction heroines.
The singer and actor recreated Barbarella , the adventurous space traveler made famous by Jane Fonda in the 1968 cult film.
Lopez shared a series of photographs on Instagram showcasing several looks inspired by the movie. One outfit featured a plunging white bodysuit with black detailing and matching knee-high boots.
In another, she wore a black ensemble layered with chainmail-style metallic fabric, a short skirt and silver accessories. A honey-blonde wig completed the retro-futuristic styling.
The photoshoot also included a particularly daring image in which Lopez posed with her back to the camera beside a male model portraying the winged character Pygar.
The performer, Holden Maples , was credited for his appearance. The images captured the theatrical atmosphere that made the original film so distinctive.
Lopez made the inspiration personal in her Instagram caption, referring to Fonda as the “original SPACE ANGEL” and expressing her affection for her former co-star.
She also described the costume as a tribute to her Monster-in-Law co-star, making the Halloween transformation a celebration of their longstanding connection.
A Hollywood friendship behind the Halloween tribute
Fonda’s Barbarella remains closely associated with the late-1960s blend of camp science fiction, extravagant fashion and playful sensuality.
Directed by Roger Vadim , the film follows a futuristic astronaut embarking on an unusual interplanetary adventure. Its imaginative costumes and Fonda’s memorable performance helped establish the character as a lasting pop-culture icon.
The tribute also highlights the relationship between the actresses beyond their shared comedy. Monster-in-Law marked Fonda’s return to acting after a lengthy break, with the 2005 production becoming an important career comeback.
The film eventually earned approximately $155 million worldwide, introducing Fonda to a new generation of moviegoers.
Their time together on set also produced some unforgettable moments. Lopez previously revealed that she felt nervous about filming a scene involving slapping Fonda , but accidentally injured her co-star's eyebrow with a large diamond ring.
“I was so afraid to hit Jane Fonda in the face or hurt her in any way,” Lopez said in 2019. “And really, her character was very much like her, and my character at the time was very much like me. I was so afraid of her.
“I don’t even think we were supposed to slap each other. I just remember afterwards, Jane had a blood blister at the top of her eye. My nail, like, went up into her eye.”
Fonda later joked about the incident, while both actresses have continued speaking warmly about their experience working together.
Lopez's Halloween appearance comes during another busy chapter in her career. Her music continues attracting fresh audiences, while fashion projects and high-profile brand partnerships keep her firmly in the spotlight.
Her hit single On the Floor has also enjoyed renewed popularity among younger listeners following its appearance in the Amazon Prime series Off Campus.
By choosing Fonda's iconic character instead of a more contemporary Halloween costume, Lopez delivered a glamorous tribute to a fellow performer.
