Tom Brady's former TV admirer Inés Gómez Mont arrested amid $160 million fraud allegations

Mexican television presenter Inés Gómez Mont, 43, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Florida on October 30, 2026, after spending five years wanted by Mexican authorities. She and her husband, lawyer Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga, face allegations involving organized crime, money laundering, tax fraud, and the alleged diversion of approximately $160 million in public funds through shell companies and fraudulent government contracts.

Gómez Mont became internationally known in 2008 when she appeared at Super Bowl Media Day wearing a wedding dress and playfully proposed to then-New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who declined.

Mexican prosecutors have confirmed three outstanding arrest warrants against her. Gómez Mont remains in U.S. immigration custody while authorities consider her immigration status and possible return to Mexico. She has consistently denied wrongdoing and maintains her innocence.
