Kenneth Walker reveals he had Jalen Hurts' same diagnosis, but handled it way differently: "Yeah, that's crazy"
Walker suffered from pulmonary emboli in high school at the age of 17.

It's a scary time for Jalen Hurts right now. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback had to be shut down for the season after doctors found multiple blood clots in his lungs. What makes his situation even more concerning is that he was allowed to play in a game despite doctors advising him to not sleep prior, after an initial blood clot was found in his calf.
Less than a week later, Hurts was ruled out for the rest of the season. Now, Hurts will get the proper care and hopefully return by next season. A pulmonary embolism is considered a serious medical emergency, and Hurts was found to have multiple. Thankfully for Hurts, there's a well-known recovery case and redemption story among his NFL peers .
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III , who has gotten off to an incredible start with his new team this season, once dealt with the same thing Hurts is currently dealing with. Walker was 17 years old when he had to be rushed to the hospital due to blood clots in both of his lungs . He had woken up struggling to breathe.
Kenneth Walker III can't believe Jalen Hurts was allowed to board flight with blood clots
At first, he was told by doctors that his football career was over, as a hit to the wrong part of his chest could have killed him. But after a four-month recovery, Walker was able to return to the gridiron. Knowing that he's gone through this before, local Chiefs media asked Walker about Hurts' situation this week. Walker said " I'll be praying for him ", then expressed shock when thinking that Hurts boarded a flight with blood clots .
Yeah, honestly, just stay positive. Obviously, I guess you know about what happened in high school, like, with the blood clots and everything. And he went on the flight, huh, and everything? Yeah, that’s crazy. You know, honestly, just stay positive, and do all the things necessary that he need to do, to get his body back right. But, yeah, I’ll be praying for him, because that’s not something we should take lightly.
Even Walker seems surprised by how Hurts' situation was handled by the Eagles' medical staff. This won't be the last time we hear from players, and especially the NFLPA , about this topic.
