Patrick Mahomes sends warning to Chiefs fans: Why Kansas City may never win another Super Bowl
The quarterback addressed the painful defeat and revealed what could keep them from winning against top-tier teams.

After an impressive 5-0 start to the season, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are going through their first rough patch of the year after suffering two consecutive losses.
The first defeat came in Week 7 , when the Chiefs were stunned by the defending champions, the Seattle Seahawks , who secured a 20-3 victory . This Sunday, Kansas City stumbled again and fell to a 5-2 record after losing to the Denver Broncos 28-24 .
The Chiefs held an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter but were unable to protect it. Denver completed a spectacular comeback by outscoring Kansas City 1 5-0 in the final period , earning its fourth consecutive win of the season.
Mahomes completed 30 of 41 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. However, the two-time NFL MVP’s outstanding performance was not enough to prevent the Chiefs from suffering another defeat.
Patrick Mahomes spoke after falling on the road in Denver
The Chiefs quarterback revealed the real reason why they were unable to hold on for the victory during their visit to Denver.
“We just made too many mistakes—when you make mistakes you’re going to lose against good football teams,” said Kansas City’s star quarterback after the loss.
With five receptions and 128 yards, Emmett Johnson was by far the best offensive player supporting Patrick Mahomes. The quarterback had nothing but praise for the rookie, who stepped up despite the defeat:
“I thought he did a great job today, he’s done great the entire time he’s been here and as the season goes on we’ll continue to utilize him more.”
Despite the setback, the quarterback made history once again. Mahomes recorded his 49th regular-season game with at least three touchdown passes, surpassing Peyton Manning and Dan Marino for the most such games by a player in his first 10 NFL seasons.
