It’s Halloween, and while many families are getting their costumes ready to go trick-or-treating or celebrate the holiday, Patrick Mahomes has a special tradition of his own at home. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback took a break from the demands of the NFL season to enjoy a family moment that quickly caught everyone's attention. This year, the inspiration came from a beloved movie that has captured the hearts of generations.

Patrick Mahomes and his family transform into Toy Story characters

Brittany Mahomes shared photos of the family's Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 31, showing everyone dressed up as characters from the Toy Story universe. Patrick stepped into the role of Buzz Lightyear, while Brittany transformed into Jessie, the spirited cowgirl from the movie .

The little ones also had their own parts to play in the adventure. Bronze Lavon Mahomes III dressed up as Woody, Golden wore a costume inspired by one of the little green aliens, and Sterling Skye Mahomes joined in as Barbie . Together, their coordinated costumes made the family look like they had stepped straight out of the beloved animated film.

This year's theme continues a tradition the family has shared with their followers on social media. In 2025, Patrick, Brittany, and their children went with the Spider-Man universe for Halloween . Patrick dressed as Miles Morales, Brittany took on the role of Aunt May, and the kids joined in with their own characters, including Spider-Gwen.

Patrick Mahomes returns to the NFL this Sunday to face the Broncos

After this fun and spooky Halloween break, Patrick Mahomes will turn his attention back to football. On Sunday, November 1, the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Empower Field at Mile High to face the Denver Broncos in a Week 8 matchup with major implications for the AFC West standings.

The Chiefs enter the game with a 5-1 record, sitting atop the division despite coming off their first loss of the season . The Seattle Seahawks handed Kansas City a 20-3 defeat in their most recent outing. Meanwhile, Denver boasts a 5-2 record and is riding a three-game winning streak, putting the Broncos in a strong position to challenge their division rival for first place.

Sunday's matchup will also mark the second meeting between the two teams this season. Kansas City dominated their Week 1 encounter, securing a convincing 31-10 victory. However, the Broncos are in a very different position this time around and will look to take advantage of playing at home to turn the tables.
