The controversial referee's call against the Chiefs has Andy Reid rightfully complaining: “I didn't see it”
Jaylon Moore was penalized for a false start as Rashee Rice caught what he thought was the game-ending touchdown

A ndy Reid was left questioning a decisive officiating call after the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a 28-24 defeat to the Denver Broncos , with a late false-start penalty wiping out a potential game-winning touchdown and leaving the coach frustrated. The Chiefs appeared to have found a way through Denver 's defense with four seconds remaining, but a flag against right tackle Jaylon Moore erased Patrick Mahomes ' pass to Rashee Rice in the end zone.
The penalty moved Kansas City back five yards and gave the advantage to the Broncos and Reid admitted he had not witnessed the alleged infraction, although he had noticed movement from Moore . “I didn't see it. I saw him move his head, but I didn't see [a false start],” Reid said, according to ESPN's Nate Taylor as the coach also acknowledged the wider discipline problem that had affected his team throughout the afternoon. “I thought the guys battled like crazy,” Reid added at the Empower Field at Mile High in Colorado . “We had over 100 yards in penalties. We've got to take care of that.” The penalty controversy came amid a difficult afternoon for Kansas City 's discipline as the Chiefs committed 11 penalties for 105 yards, while eight first-half flags accounted for 75 yards. Four penalties also gave Denver fresh sets of downs. According to Associated Press reporter Josh Dubow , it was only the fourth time under Reid that Kansas City had committed at least eight penalties for 75 or more yards in the first half.
Chiefs slump to loss at Mile High
Kansas City had entered the fourth quarter with a 24-13 advantage, but failed to add to its score as Denver mounted a comeback as Bo Nix connected with Nate Adkins for a two-yard touchdown before finding Jaylen Waddle for the two-point conversion. Harrison Butker subsequently missed a 54-yard field goal with around two and a half minutes remaining, giving Denver the opportunity to take control as Nix needed only two plays to put the Broncos ahead. Finding rookie Jonah Coleman for a 51-yard gain before the running back scored from five yards out before Mahomes then led the Chiefs back downfield, helped by Emmett Johnson 's 44-yard kickoff return and a 32-yard reception from Travis Kelce . Kansas City reached the Denver 1-yard line with 35 seconds remaining, setting up the sequence that ended its comeback attempt but after Moore 's penalty moved the ball back, Mahomes was unable to complete the next play. But Malcolm Roach managed to get pressure on the quarterback, recording the sack for a six-yard loss as Denver secured the victory, extending their winning streak in one-score games to 15 across the last two seasons. The Broncos improved to 6-2 and moved into first place in the AFC West , half a game ahead of the 5-2 Chiefs , who have now lost twice in succession.
