Angel Reese admits her mistake in WNBA Finals Game 4: a performance to forget
Reese finished with eight points and nine rebounds, a far cry from the dominance she showed in the previous two games

A ngel Reese took responsibility and explained why she couldn’t find her rhythm when Atlanta needed her most. After dominating Games 2 and 3, the Dream star had an unusually difficult night against Golden State, scoring just eight points and grabbing nine rebounds in a 67-62 loss that tied the WNBA Finals at 2-2.
After the game, Reese acknowledged what went wrong around the basket. “I think I rushed a lot of my shots and I didn’t take my time and finish around the basket like I’ve been doing in the last three games. It happens,” she said at the press conference, looking visibly frustrated.
Golden State contained Angel Reese and tied the series
The Valkyries’ defense made every possession tougher. Golden State changed its starting lineup and stuck to its game plan, sending more defenders to cut Reese off. She finished 2-for-12 from the field, didn’t score in the first quarter and had five turnovers and three fouls by halftime.
Atlanta’s mistakes also helped create the gap. The Valkyries controlled the turnover battle in the first half, forcing 16 while committing just four and taking a 16-point lead into the break. The Dream fought back after halftime, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 19 points, while Isobel Borlase and Jordin Canada added 10 apiece. For Golden State, Gabby Williams finished with 17 points; Tiffany Hayes and Veronica Burton scored 13 each, and Kiah Stokes grabbed 16 rebounds.
The 67-62 win evened the WNBA Finals at 2-2, keeping Atlanta from moving within one victory of the championship. Game 5 is set for Monday, Oct. 26, in San Francisco at 8 p.m. ET.
