J erry Jones will not sleep easily Sunday night. The owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys exploded in frustration after watching his team suffer yet another collapse at AT&T Stadium . The painful home loss to the Arizona Cardinals revived a familiar nightmare that struck the franchise a year ago: a setback that places their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.

Halloween may be over, but the Cowboys found a new way to terrify an increasingly desperate fan base. Dallas blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and fell 33-30 in overtime , drawing the full fury of Jones. From his suite, the 84-year-old owner slammed the table and reportedly unleashed an expletive, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Although the score remained close for much of the game, Dallas never truly took control. The offense averaged just 2.4 yards per carry and managed only 195 passing yards , while the defense kept the Cardinals in check for three quarters. Everything unraveled in the final period.

The Cowboys missed key tackles on running back Tyler Allgeier and allowed backup quarterback Gardner Minshew II to dismantle their secondary. They even received a second chance when Chad Ryland missed the extra point that would have sealed the game in regulation, but the kicker redeemed himself in overtime with a 42-yard field goal that secured Arizona’s victory.

Despite scoring 30 points, Dallas’ offense also failed to live up to its star power. CeeDee Lamb averaged just 8.3 yards per reception, while George Pickens managed only two catches —though those two grabs totaled 48 yards. While the defense once again found itself under the microscope, the collapse was a shared responsibility.

After the game, Jerry Jones avoided any discussion of potential firings during his traditional postgame press conference . Still, with the Cowboys now sitting at 3-5, an uncomfortable internal conversation is clearly on the horizon. The only reason Dallas remains alive in the playoff race is the continued inconsistency of the NFC East .

Even so, blowing a two-score lead at home against a Cardinals team that entered the game with one of the worst records in the NFL makes it hard to view any remaining matchup as a guaranteed win. In Week 9 , the Cowboys travel to face the Indianapolis Colts (2-6) in a game that could serve as a turning point—or deepen the crisis even further.
