The expectations were high following Kenneth Walker ’s arrival to the Kansas City Chiefs , but his return to Seattle turned into a nightmare. The Seahawks completely shut down their former running back, who finished with just 14 carries for 36 yards, averaging 2.6 yards per attempt , as the Chiefs suffered their first NFL loss of the season.

It was, by far, Walker’s quietest performance since joining Kansas City. However, beyond his struggles on the field, what truly sparked controversy were his actions after the game.

The Chiefs running back appeared to leave the field immediately and did not approach his former Seahawks teammates to greet them or shake their hands. The situation did not go unnoticed and quickly generated reactions on social media.

“Kenneth Walker ran off the field without shaking hands with any of his former teammates or Mike Macdonald,” wrote Andrew Quinn of KREM2 in a post on X on October 25, 2026.

Walker’s decision to head straight to the locker room after the Chiefs’ 20-3 loss to Seattle sparked debate among fans.

It is customary after an NFL game for players to greet each other and share a moment with their opponents, especially when there is a history between both sides. However, during the television broadcast, it appeared that Walker headed toward the locker room instead of staying on the field with his former teammates.

Multiple reports indicated that after being held to just 36 yards on 14 carries, Kenneth Walker III did not go to midfield to shake hands with Mike Macdonald or any of his former Seahawks teammates.

Mike Macdonald highlights relationship with Kenneth Walker ahead of matchup

While Walker struggled to find running lanes against his former team, Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson delivered a strong performance with 24 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Before the matchup between the Chiefs and Seahawks, Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald reflected on Walker’s time with the franchise and made it clear that he still has a great deal of respect for the player.

“I love Ken. I thoroughly enjoyed him being on our football team,” Macdonald said. “We’ve had some great one-on-one conversations; I feel like we have a great relationship.”

“I respect the heck out of him. Happy for him. Obviously, we have to do a great job of stopping him this week,” Macdonald continued.

“I think there are mixed emotions because, on one hand, you’re happy for him, but at the same time, we’re trying to figure out ways to stop this guy too, because he’s playing at a really high level.”
